Who is Upright Aviation?

Upright Aviation Academy operates out of Burlington Airport (CZBA) in Ontario, Canada, and specializes in three main services: Aerobatic Thrill/UFLY Rides, Pilot Safety Training, and Aerobatic/Tailwheel Training.

Our instructors are certified experts who have gone through rigorous training to provide both professional and leisure aviation flying experiences.

Experience an Aviation Adventure in an Extra 300L

If you're looking for an adrenaline-pumping adventure, our Aerobatic Thrill/UFLY Rides are perfect! Paired with our professional Pilots in an Extra 300L, you can perform loops, rolls, and hard turns; the manoeuvres you see Pilots performing at air shows. This unique and thrilling experience can be caught on our telemetry system, a 3-camera setup that can capture your aviation adventure.

Safety is Paramount at Upright Aviation

Upright Aviation puts safety before anything else. Our Pilot Safety Courses address Loss of Control (LOC-I), the leading cause of aviation accidents today. While there has been progress in decreasing other types of aviation accidents, LOC-I occurrences have increased and nearly always result in destruction or fatalities within seconds following departure from controlled flight conditions.

We offer this specialized training program, designed for pilots, to help them recognize, prevent, and recover from unexpected and dangerous flight attitudes or situations, known as "upsets."

An upset is an event in which an aircraft's attitude or speed is outside the normal bounds for flight. This could include situations where the aircraft is excessively pitched up or down, banked at a steep angle, or flying at an unsafe speed. UPRT aims to equip pilots with the skills and knowledge necessary to avoid or recover from these situations, thereby reducing the risk of loss of control in-flight (LOC-I).

Our training includes theoretical instruction and practical exercises in an aircraft, where pilots practice handling various upset scenarios.

Master Aerobatics and Tailwheel Flying

For those Pilots looking to enhance their flying skills or earn flight time, we offer Aerobatic and Tailwheel Training. Our Class 1/2 Certified Aerobatic Flight Instructors offer comprehensive training for novice to advanced Pilots. You will have the chance to fly our Super Decathlon 8KCAB or the Extra 300L, where you can learn moves like spins, loops, rolls, hammerheads, immelmans, and Cuban eights.
